I live in a rural area of West Michigan and find a lot of my work simply walking out my front door or within fifty miles of my home.
It is amazing what you find if you simply pay attention to what’s around you.
A landmark is a recognizable natural or artificial feature used for navigation, a feature that stands out from its near environment and is often visible from long distances.
These can be bridges, buildings, or natural landmarks. I follow this a bit further into photographing things that maybe tell you where you are at (i.e. a particular town or place).
I love this kind of work and it sometimes gets into the abstract where you really have to pay attention to know what it is.
Although not quite macro but maybe a close cousin is my work in close-up photography, especially in flowers and plants, I love the detail created in this type of work.
This work consists of contracting myself out for fairs, festivals, and craft shows. Most of this work is for your organizations advertising for upcoming events.
An idea on the drawing board but, something I would like to get into; I live in Michigan so I have a lot of beautiful area to work with as this state sits on four out of the five Great Lakes.
This is more like showing the highlights of this state, still on the drawing board so check in often.
